Watch Out For A Re-Freeze Overnight

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN — After temperatures on Saturday got well into the 30s (after early highs in the low 40s), look for the thermometer to dip at/below 32 by Sunday morning. That means a re-freeze of almost all the liquid water on roads, streets, porches, driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks.

The fact that West Michigan tabulated almost an inch of rain in some spots, plus the melting snow, doesn’t bode well as temps drop in to the 20s Saturday night/Sunday morning.

There seems to be a very thin sheen of ice in our FOX 17 parking lot, and even on the entryway to the freeway where snow has melted and dripped down. Don’t be caught by surprise. Perhaps the worst areas are in the subdivisions where a virtual ice rink can be found.

We’ll warm to around 40 with some sunshine on Sunday, but colder temperatures and more accumulating snow are likely as we head through the upcoming week. Get the complete forecast at www.fox17online.com/weather.
