TEMPE, Ariz. —  Michigan football coach Brady Hoke made it official Thursday that Devin Gardner will not play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl Saturday night against Kansas State.

Gardner had reportedly been battling turf toe, but CBS Sports has reported that Garner broke his foot in the Ohio State game.

True freshman Shane Morris will make his first career start.  Morris has played in three games this season completing four passes on six attempts for 59 yards with one interception.

“He’s got a great team of guys behind him who are going to be out there supporting him, our offensive line and all those guys will do a tremendous job” Hoke said.

Kickoff is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. EST on Saturday.
