WEST MICHIGAN — If it feels like the last several days have been cold, indeed that has been the case. Over the past seven days (not including Saturday) temperatures have been quite cold at/mainly below freezing. At a time when the average/normal high should be around 40, we’ve been running about 10 degrees below normal.
As you may have felt on Saturday, temps soared into the mid/upper 40s across the area with a little sunshine too. The meltdown of the snow the past few days is certainly in progress and should continue before we see more. While a few flurries are possible from Grand Rapids northward into Sunday morning, most of the FOX 17 viewing area will miss out on any appreciable precipitation the next few days.
Temperatures are also expected to warm briefly by mid-week ahead of our next weather system. It’s possible we see highs in the upper 40s/near 50 again before sharply colder air comes in for next weekend and the possibility of accumulating lake-effect snow arrives with it.
