HASTINGS, Mich. — A woman apparently stole an ambulance parked at a Battle Creek hospital and made it almost to Hastings in before Barry County deputies caught up with her.
The Life EMS ambulance was parked at Battle Creek Health Systems Hospital and the crew was picking up a patient when the vehicle was taken.
Barry County Sheriff’s Department deputies pulled over the ambulance around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday on M-37 near Brogan Road south of Hastings. They arrested the driver, a woman who was alone in the ambulance. She was turned over to Battle Creek police.
