Video: Mendon beats Climax-Scotts 13-0 to win Division 8 District Crown

MENDON, Mich — Mendon (11-0) remained unbeaten with a 13-0 win over Climax-Scotts (9-2) Saturday afternoon at John Schwartz field in a division 8 district championship game.  It marks the 7th straight season the Hornets have won a district title.

Mendon scored on the opening possesion of the game on a 5 yard touchdown run by Kaleb McCarroll.  The game reamined 6-0 until the 4th quarter when Elijah Klepper scored from 4 yards out.  The Hornets defense notched their 8th shutout in 11 games and has allowed just 19 points all season.

Mendon played without starting quarterback Jordan Medich who broke his collarbone and will not return this season.  Senior Robert Riley has stepped in at quarterback and played the last few weeks for Mendon.

The Hornets will host Muskegon Catholic Central (9-2) next Saturday in the Regional Championship game.  The Crusaders beat Mendon at John Schwartz field last season in the Regional Championship game.
