LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The suspect in a Monday morning home invasion in Calhoun County is still being sought by police.

At 7:55 a.m., deputies were called to a home in the 4000 block of Capital SW.  A 19-year-old Battle Creek woman was taken into custody at the scene, but a man fled on foot.

After tracking that man several miles to the Sonoma Lake Area, deputies decided to put Sonoma Elementary School on lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m. after the area was deemed safe.  Deputies believe the man was picked up by a car and fled. The suspect was described by detectives as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his early 20s.  He is 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with a slender build, and was wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey sweatpants.
