JENISON, Mich. — A body found September 8 along the Grand River was identified Wednesday as Gail Masselink of Jenison.
Masselink, 60, was reported missing during the holidays in 2012. Her remains were found around 5 p.m. by a hunter in the woods near 12th Avenue at Taylor Street in Georgetown Township. Dental records were used to identify her body.
Though the body was identified by a forensic odontologist, further examination will be made by a forensic anthropologist, said the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. Cause of death so far is unknown.
Masselink was reported missing December 24, 2012. All that was found in the initial search was her car, found on the same day.
