Power Outage Affects Thousands In Jenison Area

JENISON, Mich. — Thousands of people waking up in Jenison could not rely on their alarms to stay on time Monday morning.

Power went out for about 5,400 Consumers Energy customers in eastern Ottawa County some time after 6 a.m.

The outage area stretched along Baldwin Street and Cottonwood Drive and north of Chicago Drive from I-196 to 28th Avenue.

The cause of the outage was initially unknown.

Jenison Public Schools were placed on a two-hour delay.
