GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The estranged wife of a stabbing victim now faces an open murder charge because Bertram Nathaniel Lee, 52, has died of his wounds.

Ynes Danyelle Lee, 43, is in jail after being arraigned Wednesday. Judge Sara Smolenski denied bond.

The woman is accused of stabbing Bertram with a steak knife while Bertram, who lived in Wyoming, was visiting Ynes in her Gaines Township apartment at 6121 Woodfield Drive SE on August 17.

Bertram had been on life support until he died August 26.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 9.
