HASTINGS TOWNSHIP, Mich.- One man is in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle Saturday night at the intersection of M-37 and M-79 in Barry County.
According to Michigan State Troopers, a 52-year-old man from Jackson, Michigan was travelling westbound on M-79 when he ran the stop sign at the intersection. The man attempted to stop the motorcycle but left the road and crashed into a sign as well as a tree. The man was thrown the motorcycle. This happened between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m Saturday Night.
After the crash the man was unable to contact anyone and wasn’t found until 9 a.m. Sunday morning when a passerby noticed the broken sign and found the man semi-conscious and severely injured on the ground.
The man was taken to a Grand Rapids Hospital via Aero Med for treatment.
Alcohol nor speed appear to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
