GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The S.H.O.E.S. program that provided free new shoes to 9,000 elementary school students last year from In The Image will expand to provide new shoes to 13,000 kids.
The program has provided new athletic shoes to elementary students in the Grand Rapids, Kentwood, and Wyoming public schools, and this year students in the Godfrey-Lee district will be able to take advantage of the program.
Shoes are provided to students in grades K-5, and students will receive their shoes between August 19 and August 30. Each school has an assigned pick-up day, so parents need to contact their school administrators for information.
In The Image set a goal of raising $170,000 to able to provide the shoes.
A parent or legal guardian with valid ID must be with students to register and receive shoes.
