CASCADE, Mich. — A semi crashed on eastbound I-96 at the M-6 interchange early Wednesday.
The crash took place shortly after 5 a.m. at the exit to westbound M-6.
The right lane of I-96 was blocked by the accident and emergency vehicles.
Cleanup of the scene took several hours, as the load in the trailer had to be removed to allow for putting the semi on its wheels.
While it was still dark, emergency personnel rescued a man from a spot 20 feet below the lip of a retaining wall (see video). We were unable to determine if the rescued man was the driver of the semi or how badly hurt he was.
