SOUTH HAVEN, Mich.- You can put them in pies, pancakes or simply eat more than you pick in most cases. If you love the blue fruit, don’t miss out on the 2013 National Blueberry Festival which gets underway Aug. 8-11.
Opening ceremonies are at 6p.m. Thursday at Riverfront Park, along with a Blueberry Pie from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at Huron Street Pavilion. A popular spot throughout the festival, is “Blueberry Central”, located at 408 Eagle St. There, people can find everything from fresh blueberries, blueberry plants to pies.
