Quarterbacks, Seniors the story at Michigan State Media Day

Posted

EAST LANSING, Mich — The Michigan State football team held it’s annual media day Monday and the team seemed focus on improving from a 7-6 season in 2012.

Senior quarterback Andrew Maxwell, who started all 13 games last season, finds himself in battle with sophomore Connor Cook this fall.  Cook came off the bench to lead MSU to a 17-16 win over TCU in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.  Head coach Mark Dantonio said both players will get the chance when the season opens August 30th against Western Michigan.

The Spartans head into the season with 18 seniors on the roster, twice what they had last season.  Michigan State is the only Big Ten team to win a bowl game each of the last 2 seasons.
