LOWELL, Mich.- After overcoming fairground flooding in the spring, Kent County Youth Fair has bounced back, ready with the largest fair entertainment in years. From now until Aug. 10, visitors from all over can enjoy carnival rides, animals, sand sculpting, swing dancing, bingo and much more.

This year, the fair has partnered with the Kent District Library to encourage children to read with a popular “Reading for Rides” program. On the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 6, children under 12 ride for free when they present a completed book log available on the fair website. More than 7,000 copies of K.C. Lost Her Bell, were handed out to Kent County library branches, as well.

If you are planning a trip, the KCYF opens daily at 8 a.m. and runs until 11 p.m. There is no gate or admission fee, but parking is $6.
