GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Local chefs, local ingredients and sandwich creations that are out of this world! That’s the idea behind the Grandwich competition that kicks off at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23.
Over a period of four weeks, July 23 to Aug. 12, 29 Grand Rapids area restaurants will throw their Grandwich creation on the menu, giving the public the opportunity to register and vote for their favorites at www.downtowngr.org/grandwich. The top 10 sandwiches then go before a judging panel, with the winner crowned “Grandwich 2013”. Food lovers are also encouraged to talk about their experiences on the Grandwich Facebook page or follow along on Twitter by using #Grandwich.
The grand finale judging event will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Rosa Parks Circle. Winners of the top 10 sandwiches will present samples. The suggested admission for the event is $5 and it will go toward the Kids’ Food Basket or you can choose items to donate that are found on thislist.
