SMYRNA, Mich. — A man missing after being separated from his party on the Flat River near Smyrna Dam was found early Friday.
Ionia County Central Dispatch had sent out word on its Facebook page early Friday that Ian Taylor Church was missing. The Michigan State Police Ionia Detachment was involved in the search, which was mounted from a location on Ingalls Road.
Church, 21, was found in the river around 5:45 a.m. after last being seen in a double tube on the Flat River south of Smyrna Dam.
Scanner traffic between dispatchers, search command, and boat units indicated Church was “somewhat hypothermic.”
