GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Slow traffic will be the rule on one of Kent County’s primary non-expressway arteries as a repaving project begins Monday night.
Meanwhile, drivers on I-96 can expect slowdowns in both directions in Ionia County.
The Plainfield Avenue project begins Monday night. The first lane closures will be in effect through Wednesday:
- Right lane closed southbound from Airway Street to 4 Mile Road
- Two lanes will be opened mornings 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and afternoons 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Lane closures on eastbound I-96 in Ionia County have already caused daily slowdowns in midday. This week, both directions will be affected and in effect through Thursday:
- Eastbound I-96: Right lane closed from Kent County line to Nash Highway exit 59.
- Westbound I-96: Left lane closed from Jordan Lake Avenue exit 64 to Nash Highway exit 59.
