HUDSONVILLE, Mich — Rockford scored 4 runs in the 5th inning and starting pitcher Brent Showers was outstanding as the Rams topped Hudsonville 7-0 Saturday in a division 1 regional final.
Sophomore Cory Stankus drove in a run in the 2nd to give Rockford a 1-0 lead. Tyler Pellerito, Steven Powell and Tom Redder all drove in runs in the 4-run 5th inning.
Rockford advances to Tuesday’s quarterfinal to play top-ranked Bay City Western at 1 P.M. at Central Michigan University.
