GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Road crews around West Michigan are having trouble getting anything done.
The scheduled nighttime repaving of 28th Street west of M-37/East Beltline/Broadmoor Avenue (map) was postponed last week and rescheduled to begin Monday night. But the forecast doesn’t look good for this and other road projects.
Concrete repairs were scheduled to begin earlier this month on I-96 in Ionia County (map), but that project was delayed until this week as well. Lane closures are scheduled to being for nighttime repair work (map), but the project depends on the weather. Again, it doesn’t look good.
Other projects are scheduled to begin, but could be delayed by wet weather:
- M-89 in Plainwell: Resurfacing between Farmer Street and 12th Street from Tuesday through Thursday, May 28-30. (Map)
- M-43 in South Haven: Eastbound and westbound M-43 between Blue Star Highway and LaGrange Street Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28-29. (Map)
- M-96 east of Galesburg: Flag crews controlling traffic near Rosemont Drive for utility work Monday through Thursday, May 28-30. (Map)
