COMSTOCK PARK, Mich — Forest Hills Northern used small ball and a complete game from Trevor Russo to beat Comstock Park in game 1 of doubleheader Wednesday at Fifth Third Ballpark, 10-4.
Northern scored 2 runs in the 1st on a Nick Wassenaar 2-run single. They added 3 more in the 3rd, Brooks Berrodin executed a very difficut suicide sqeeze play that ended up scoring 2 runs after an overthrow at 1st base. Russo went the distance on the mound to get the win.
The loss dropped OK Blue champion Comstock Park to 24-4 on the season. Northern won its 11th consecutive game and is now 16-9 on the year.
