GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Tomas Jurco scored a pair goals and Landon Ferraro netted the game winner in the 3rd period as the Griffins beat the Marlies 4-1 at Van Andel Arena.  Grand Rapids now leads the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can close it out Saturday night in game 5.

The Marlies got on the board 1st when Carter Ashton scored late in the opening period.  The Griffins got the equalizer in the 2nd when Luke Glendening fed Jurco who beat Drew MacIntyre to knot the score at 1.  Ferraro scored the game winner when he banked the puck off a Marlie defenseman with 9:47 to play in the 3rd period.  Jeff Hoggan and Jurco added empty netters to make the final 4-1.

“I thought we had pretty good energy, I think when we pressure real well and have good puck pressure we are a real good team I thought we did a real good job of that tonight” Griffins Head Coach Jeff Blashill said.

Saturday’s game is set to begin just after 7 P.M. at Van Andel Arena.
