WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities have decided not to file charges against a horse owner who had been accused of neglecting the animals.
A citizen complained Thursday that horses at the property east of Coopersville on Cleveland Street were standing in water and were not being cared for. Facebook posts of a dead horse seemed to support the accusations.
Ottawa County Animal Control investigated the complaint and decided to work with the animals’ owner instead of pressing charges.
Up to 18 horses were on the property.
