BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — It’s a place where the wild things roam in West Michigan.
Binder Park Zoo opens for the season on Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. and will welcome visitors until Oct. 6.
Binder prides itself on having one of the largest herds of giraffe in the United States, and families can even feed them.
Special Earth Day events will take place on April 20, with zoo keepers sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for animals:
- 11:00 a.m. – African savanna keeper talk (meet at the cheetah deck in Wild Africa)
- 12:00 p.m. – Conservation Critter Chat at the Smith Wildlife Discovery Theater
- 1:00 .pm. – Smith Snow Leopard Encounter keeper talk
- 2:00 p.m. – Michigan Wildlife Tour (meet at Mongolian wild horse exhibit)
- 3:00 p.m. – Mexican wolf keeper talk
