Intersection On 28th Street To Become Tight Squeeze

Posted

CASCADE, Mich. — Drivers who use Patterson Avenue will begin to feel the squeeze this week as part of the 28th Street reconstruction project.

Traffic on Patterson Avenue at 28th Street will be reduced to one lane on Thursday, March 28, in both directions, and northbound trucks will be prohibited from turning right onto eastbound 28th Street.

Traffic flow on northbound Patterson Avenue will completely change until May 21, according to the construction schedule from the Michigan Department of Transportation. The northbound lanes will be completely closed, and northbound drivers will be funneled into a single lane northbound in a southbound lane. Southbound drivers will only have access to the right lane at 28th Street.

In other developments this week in the 28th Street project, utility work continues in preparation of reconstruction between Patterson Avenue and I-96. The westbound right lane is closed  during daylight hours east of Patterson Avenue through Wednesday at about 8 p.m. The right lane eastbound will be closed Wednesday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
