HOLLAND, Mich. — Traffic was diverted for an hour during the morning commute due to a crash on US-31 at James Street.
Nicole Walters, 24, of Hamilton, was pinned in her vehicle for a time and was taken to Holland Community Hospital with a number of injuries. She was later described as in fair condition.
Walters was eastbound on James Street and did not stop at US-31, said the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. Her vehicle hit a southbound vehicle driven by Michael Van Dyke, 49, of Holland Township. He was not hurt.
The crash took place at 7:25 a.m., and traffic was diverted around the scene until around 8:30 a.m.
Van Dyke was wearing a seat belt, but it’s unclear whether Walters was wearing a belt.
