Chrysler has issued a recall on 744,822 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Liberty models made in the 2002 to 2004 model years.
The company says the front air bags and side curtain bags could deploy by mistake due to a problem with the air bag control module. Seat belt pretensioners could also needlessly engage.
Owners will be notified of the recall, and dealers will fix the problem at no charge beginning in January 2013.
Owners can call Chrysler if they wish: 800-247-9753.
