WEST MICHIGAN — Several West Michigan counties have issued winter storm warnings ahead of the weekend as the weather system makes its way to the area.
Affected areas include Oceana, Clare, Osceola, Newaygo, Mason, Mecosta and Lake.
The warnings are from 10 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Sunday.

Four to nine inches of snow are expected, according to Mecosta County Emergency Management, as well as ice accumulations with a light glaze.
Travel could be "very difficult."
Scattered power outages are possible, Newaygo Emergency Services said.
Rain will change to a heavy, wet snow Friday night.
