WEST MICHIGAN — A look at today's Independence Day forecast shows more heat for West Michigan. Overall, a partly cloudy sky can be expected with temperatures headed for the lower 90s. A lake breeze late this morning into this afternoon could pop an isolated shower or thundershower between the Lakeshore and US Highway 131 but coverage would be minimal.
The heat is expected to continue in the days ahead with the entire 7-day forecast maintaining afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s. Humidity will begin to crank up through the first half of this coming week. There continues to be some signal that the heat may try to intensify at some point later this week into next weekend.
Though a shower or thunderstorm cannot be dismissed Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday and again next Friday, important rainfall is not anticipated.
