Heavy snow to overspread West Michigan Sunday afternoon

and last updated

Our next snow-maker arrives around midday/early afternoon Sunday. This will be a clipper system with more accumulating snow for all of West Michigan. Snow will begin on the light side early afternoon but shift to a heavier brand of snow for the mid-late afternoon and early evening time frame. The heaviest of the snow looks to fall between 2 P.M. and 8 P.M.

2 - 4 inches looks to be the most likely range for the Grand Rapids area. Amounts will have a tendency to be a little lower the further south you go and a bit more the further north you go.

Activity may end as a little drizzle as marginally milder air briefly shifts in from the south. High temperatures will be in the lower 30s by Sunday evening. Even though the snow will have concluded long before drive time on Monday morning, watch out for lingering slippery travel for the commute to start the new workweek.
