WEST MICHIGAN — All good things come to an end, including our gorgeous stretch of mild temperatures and sunshine. A cold front will knock on our doorstep Monday afternoon, bringing showers and storms along with it.
Just before the cold front comes through, the low pressure pushing in the cooler air will lift a warm front through Monday morning. This will lead to temperatures in the 70s by the afternoon. The added warmth and extra moisture will lead to showers and even a few thunderstorms.
The setup will not be conducive for severe weather, but the showers and storms could bring down some gusty winds. Those winds could crack a few small limbs and tear off some of the colorful leaves, but power outages or damage is not expected.
The showers and thunderstorms will develop around noon and continue east through 7 p.m., likely impacting the evening commute. The morning commute will be cool but dry. Sunshine will be lacking tomorrow as this system along with the remnants of Delta throw more clouds towards us.
The cold front will be pretty weak in terms of bringing colder air in, as temperatures will remain around normal in the lower and middle 60s for Tuesday. Sunshine will also return as drier air pushes in with the cooler air from Canada. All in all, it will be good to get the rain on Monday with sunshine making its return Tuesday!
Rainfall amounts will be between a quarter to three quarters of an inch.
