WEST MICHIGAN — A Frost Advisory has been posted for areas along and east of US-Highway 131 from 2 A.M. to 9 A.M Friday.
Skies are expected to go mostly clear to partly cloudy in these sections in the overnight period along with light north to northwest winds. With a dry atmosphere in place represented by dew points projected to drop into the lower to middle 30s, this means good radiational cooling factors will be with us overnight tonight.
Areas well north of I-96 and away from Lake Michigan can fall into the 32-35 degree range by daybreak tomorrow. Overnight lows are expected to drop to between 34-37 degrees in Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek. The Lakeshore should see lows in the 38-40 degree range so lesser prospects for frost exist in these locations with the possibility of clouds lingering into the overnight.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
