GRAND RAPIDS — WEST MICHIGAN – West Michigan has seen some light snow in our morning hours. Roads can be slick and slippery this morning as we expected a dusting to about an inch or so of snowfall. The snow will be shutting off by late morning and early afternoon hours. A mix of cloud cover will remain for the rest of the day as temperatures stay in the upper 20s.

Lake effect snow chances arrive Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning with bitter cold temperatures. We will get a taste of the polar vortex pushing arctic air directly into West Michigan. The good news is this all last for only 1 day. By the Thursday and Friday time frame temperatures will rebound and conditions will calm.

Temperatures are even expected to remain mild as the Climate Prediction Center is giving us the chance for above average temperatures. We should have afternoon highs in the lower 30s this time of year. Any white Christmas chances with a lot of snowfall are not looking likely.
