GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP — Police say a woman experiencing car trouble was ultimately ran over by her own vehicle Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 5 p.m. on 20th Avenue near Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the 50-year-old Wayland woman was having trouble with her car. She apparently fell when she got out to check it with a few others near by. It's when she fell is when the vehicle ran over her. She was taken to the hospital and treated for abdominal and trouble breathing.
Police say no one else was in the car at the time of the incident.
