BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — A man police were investigating in the death of Quintina Jefferies has taken his own life.
The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says they were just about to serve a search warrant to the home of Samuel Brown in relation to Jefferies' death when they were told Brown had taken his own life. Brown was Jefferies' boyfriend at the time of her death.
Police believe her death was not related to drugs or gang violence saying "...this incident started as a domestic assault that ended in the senseless death of Quintina Jeffries."
Jefferies was 29 when she was killed and leaves behind an 8-year-old son.
