DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers held a news conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss the club's Minor League affiliate invitations.

The West Michigan Whitecaps were promoted to an Advanced A affiliate of the Tigers after having spent 24 seasons as the Low A designee.
