Detroit Lions fans know that 'Megatron' was a once-in-a-generation type player.
Now, Calvin Johnson will finally be eligible to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Johnson, who retired in 2016 from football, played his entire career with the Lions.
Johnson set the NFL's single-season receiving mark of 1,964 yards in 2012 and is the organization's all-time leader in receiving yards and receptions.
He was a three-time first-team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowl selection who had seven 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career.
Johnson is among 25 semifinalists that will be whittled down in February by the Hall of Fame selection committee.
