Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Denny McLain is selling thousands of pieces of sports memorabilia right out of his Wixom home.
The estate sale begins on Thursday, Oct. 1 and continues through Sunday. Seven rooms filled with sports memorabilia will be sold, from bats to baseball cards to rare autographed baseballs.
"It's been some journey," he said. “So many great stories that go along with these pictures.”
He said it's time to downsize and move out of his home. He will also be on hand at the sale, saying "it's just nice to see the smiles."
Masks and social distancing are a must and a limited number of people are allowed inside the home at one time.
But the former Tiger says it will be a fun event.
"We are going to try and make it a little bit of a ballpark in the backyard with a tent," he said.
