DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 24-year-old woman was assaulted and carjacked during an encounter with a man she met on a dating app.
The incident happened on Dec. 2 around 11 p.m. in the area of Margareta and Meyers. The woman met up with the suspect and another man. She picked both of the men up in the 20400 block of Northlawn to hang out, police said.
When they got to Margareta and Meyers, the victim was asked to park and the suspect who was seated in the front, passenger seat punched her in the face and pushed her face against the glass window. The suspect who was in the backseat then pulled the victim out of the driver's seat of the vehicle and threw her on the ground.
The victim was able to run away. However, the suspects left the area in her black, 2012 Chrysler 200 after throwing her purse out of the window of the car.
The stolen vehicle was recovered the next day, police said. They are still looking for the two suspects. One suspect is possibly named Chris or Kenny, the second suspect's name is believed to be Jamar and he's between 24 and 30 years old.
