GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. — Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is hosting their 9th annual Green Gala Fundraiser on August 13th.

This year it’s going to look slightly different due to COVID so they came up with three different community picnic options.

You can purchase a picnic basket and take it home, or join their socially distanced circles outlined in Ah-Nab-Awen park and there are two different time frames 5:30pm-7:30pm or 8pm-10pm.

This event will have less than 100 people per time frame.

Each picnic basket is $110 and will be filled with local food, drinks, two masks and hand sanitizer and is good for two people, you can also purchase an add on kids basket for $20.

There will also be live music.

“The money is going towards helping our mission which is to engage people in activating parks and becoming stewards of their local parks. As well as helping us plant trees in the city of Grand Rapids. Each year, we have over 1200 volunteers that come out to beautify parks, plant trees, prune trees, and overall just help make our parks even more beautiful and engaged,” says Stephanie Adams, Executive Director, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.
