Police: Mother accidentally shoots toddler during argument with neighbor over incorrect food delivery

Detroit police are have arrested a woman after she accidentally shot her 20-month-old daughter during an argument with a neighbor.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. in the 4200 block of Tyler, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the mother was having a dispute with a neighbor who was allegedly holding a hammer. The mother, who is a CPL holder, fired shots during the argument. When police arrived on the scene to address the confrontation, they found the toddler had been shot while sitting inside of a gray Charger.

Police said an incorrect food delivery is what allegedly led to the argument.

The child was taken to the hospital by police and is listed in critical condition.
