Police investigating fatal Jefferson Twp crash

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are still gathering information on a crash the killed a Cassopolis man Monday night.

Forty-one year-old Marcus Moore was taken to the Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac by another victim of the crash but was pronounced dead soon after.

Cass County Deputies say the vehicle was speeding on Brownsville Road when it hit the new chip seal recently applied to the road, causing it to roll several times into a field.

More victims were identified later Tuesday afternoon including Asa English, 45, Samantha Worley, 27, and the driver, Willie Moore, 35, all from Cassopolis. English and Worley were injured but didn't go to the hospital. Willie Moore was treated for injuries from the crash at Borgess.

Police are still trying to assess if alcohol or drugs were a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
