Michigan State Police increasing patrols Up North through the end of summer

Michigan State Police announced Thursday it would be increasing patrols Up North every weekend for the rest of the summer.

According to MSP, troopers from the Alpena post will have an increased presence on M65 and M33 beginning Friday, July 31 and continuing every weekend through Labor Day.

MSP said this area sees increased traffic in the summer months and they want everyone to arrive safely.

The department is also reminding people of the state's Move Over Law which requires you to move over and slow down when a first responder with emergency lights activated is on the side of the road.
