UPDATE: Juvenile sent to hospital after Kentwood shooting, police search for suspect

KENTWOOD, Mich. — The Kentwood Police Department says it's looking for the suspect involved in a shooting that sent a juvenile in the hospital with non-life-threatening injury.

Kentwood Police say they were called to the scene around 8:34 P.M. Thursday near Ridgebrook Avenue and Carriage Hill Drive. Officers found the minor and gave them first aid before being taken to the hospital. They did not share his exact age.

A FOX 17 crew was on the scene in our Kentwood neighborhood, where police cruisers were concentrated on the area of the shooting. Officials say shell casings along with damage to property were being investigated at the scene.

Authorities say no suspects have been arrested at this time. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Kentwood Police Department at (616) 656-6580 or submit an anonymous tip to Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
