WYOMING, Mich. — A portion of 28th St. in Kentwood is back open after a driver hit and killed a pedestrian on Monday night.
Police were dispatched to 28th St. near Hobby Lobby and Sam's Club just after 7 p.m.
The pedestrian was later identified as a 41-year-old woman by the Kentwood Police Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe at least one vehicle left the scene of the crash before officers arrived. Detectives are collecting information any vehicle that may have left the area.
In a statement, the Kentwood Police Department said it would release more details about vehicles that might have been involved in the future.
