KENTWOOD, Mich. — A violent incident occurred at the Woodland Mall last night, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Sgt. John Wittkowski says the GRPD, KCSD and Michigan State Police combined resources "on a high-risk takedown" on 28th Street at around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. He says after engaging in a vehicular pursuit, the vehicle was stopped in the mall's parking lot.

MSP provided air support to curb risk to the public, police say.

Three arrests were made for "drug and weapon offenses," says Wittkowski, adding that a large amount of drugs were seized as well as three firearms.

There were no injuries reported in connection to the incident.
