COVERT, Mich. — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Wednesday evening after finding drugs and guns in his home.

Detectives conducted an investigation about 7:30 p.m. into the sales of LSD in the 45000 block of 72nd Street in Covert, a news release said Thursday.

The owner of the home had multiple warrants for his arrest for sales of LSD.

Deputies and detectives saw the man in the house and told him to come out.

The homeowner ran at detectives and tried to assault them, but was stopped.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the house and conducted a search, finding more than 100 tabs of acid, a large amount of Psilocybin mushrooms and several amphetamine pills.

They also found an AK-47 rifle, AR-15 style assault rifle and a sawed-off shotgun, along with several other shotguns and hunting rifles.

The man was lodged on the warrants and a report will be filed with the Van Buren County Prosecutor once the investigation is complete.

Marijuana was also found but isn’t currently being investigated.

Several pounds of seeds to manufacture Psilocybin mushrooms were also found and will be investigated once police receive lab results.
