BENTON HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Police say a 19-year-old from Benton Harbor Township is dead after being shot in the chest Tuesday night.
It happened around 11:10 p.m. at the Phillips 66 Gas Station in Benton Harbor.
According to Benton Charter Township Police, Taj Carter suffered a gun shot wound and was taken to the hospital by a Good Samaritan before police arrived. Carter was later pronounced dead.
Police say they don't have a suspect description, but they may have been driving a red four door sedan.
