One person being held in homicide case in Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS, Mich. — An Open Murder charge is being sought against a 21-year-old Three Rivers resident who is being held in the homicide of a 59-year-old Three Rivers resident.

Three Rivers Police were called to an address in the 300 block of Middle Street, just south of E. Michigan Avenue, around 9:43 a.m. Thursday. There they found the 59-year-old victim.

The 21-year-old was identified as a possible suspect, arrested, and is now awaiting arraignment, when his identity will be made public. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of family.

Several agencies are involved in the investigation beyond the Three Rivers Police Department: The St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force, Michigan State Police, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, the Sturgis Police Department, the Constantine Police Department, and the St. Joseph County Victim’s Services.
