NEW BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 23-year-old woman is dead after crashing into a turning car around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Three Oaks resident Joyce Collins was making a left turn into the "pick-up" area outside Timothy's Restaurant on Red Arrow Hwy., when she pulled into the path of a motorcycle driven by Illinois native Stacy Johnson, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

Once first responders reached the intersection of Red Arrow and Community Hall Rd., they found two passer-by doctors were already giving an unresponsive Johnson C.P.R.

She was taken to Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City, where she was later pronounced dead.

Johnson had not been wearing a helmet, and the driver of the car was not injured during the crash.

The incident is still being investigated, and it currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
